A former Baywatch hunk who turned his back on Hollywood looks unrecognisable, after ditching acting for an unexpected new career.
French born David Charvet played Matt Brody in the first three seasons of the American television series, he even dated the show's breakout star, Pamela Anderson from 1992 until 1994.
Since departing the show the 51-year-old dipped in and out of acting and music, before stumbling into the building industry accidentally.

The star, who played Craig Field on Melrose Place from 1996 until 1998, was unhappy with the build on his Malibu home, so decided to sack the contractor and project manage the development himself.
Now Charvet is a partner in the Jones Builders Group, where, according to the firm's website, he brings his 'extensive background and experience to the world of boutique home construction'.
“I may not have won an Emmy or an Oscar," he adds on his profile, "but when I build these homes, I know they’ll last longer—there’s something special about driving through your home town and seeing properties we’ve created.”

Despite leading a quieter life out of the spotlight, Charvet recently hit the headlines in April this year when he was named as a suspect in a police investigation for allegedly threatening his ex-girlfriend, Kate Boskovich.
It was claimed the recently split pair were involved in a heated argument about each other's lifestyles, during which Boskovich alleged that Charvet told her that it 'won't end well' for her, which apparently made her fearful.
Boskovich filed the police report and LAPD is currently investigating the alleged incident, and the prosecutor's office will decide if a case is worth filing or not.
Charvet continued acting throughout the 90s, before walking away from the industry in 1999 to concentrate on his musical career.
He made sporadic screen appearances with his last acting performance being in 2013's Prisoners of the Sun.
A return to the small screen for a reality show then followed, where he teamed up with then wife, Brooke Burke in The New Celebrity Apprentice.
The couple, who share two children together, separated the following year, but the divorce wasn't finalized until 2020.
Charvet and Brooke share custody of their children and both claim to have moved on amicably with their lives.
